Our History

Combino Pharm started activity in 1996, with the aim of providing society with high-quality generic drugs and working towards the rationalisation of pharmaceutical costs.

The company’s first launch was Zidovudine Combino Pharm, the first generic drug on the Spanish market. Since then, thanks to the hard work and commitment of Combino Pharm’s team, the company has consolidated its position as a standard setter in the Spanish generic product market, with over 30 active ingredients on the market and a steady international expansion.

Combino Pharm together with Medichem, is part of the Medichem Corporation, a Spanish-owned family company, whose headquarters are in Sant Joan Despí (Barcelona).

1996

Combino Pharm starts activity in the hospital market with the launch of Zidovudine Combino Pharm.

1998

Inauguration of the headquarters and laboratories in Sant Joan Despí (Barcelona).

2001

Combino Pharm starts its international expansion programme.

2002

Combino Pharm enters the Spanish primary health care market.

2006

Production starts at the new Combino Pharm Malta Ltd. plant.

2009

Combino Pharm enters the Portuguese hospital market.

2010

Combino pharm starts its Contract Manufacturing Project in Malta.

2010

Inauguration of the new R&D Centre in Sant Joan Despí (Barcelona).

2011

Combino Pharm starts its Contract Development programme.
